I can remember making things as early as the age of four years old, and
I've never stopped. The first garment I ever made, was on my
grandmother's lap while she pump the pedal of an old Singer as she
showed me how to guide the fabric under the needle without sewing my
hand too. Four decades later, and I think I've got it mastered. She
would be so proud of me!
The clothes that I design today are a mixture of casual Eco-friendly knits, linens and silks. Or something I just felt an urge to try out. I would really rather make one top that you'll wear till it's threadbare than something so formal that you'll only wear it once a year. Natural breathable fabrics are my favorite, but I'll sometimes make something with a piece that has just caught my eye. I don't design fancy and over-embellished clothing. I believe a woman should wear the dress, not the dress wear the woman. The clothes we wear most tend to mimic the type of person we are in a relaxed atmosphere. Everyday living casual is what Fine-Threadz is all about.
